Odgen Trust Partnership

The Ogden Trust is a charitable trust that exists to promote the teaching and learning of physics, with the overall goal of increasing the number of students taking physics at GCSE, A-level and at university.
 
St Columb Major Academy is working with nine other Kernow Learning schools to deliver inspiring, hands-on science to pupils, raising the profile of the subject and encouraging the children to believe they can be scientists!

The Kernow Learning schools taking part are as follows:

  • Beacon
  • Charlestown
  • Foxhole
  • St Columb Major
  • St Columb Minor
  • St Newlyn East
  • The Bishops'
  • Trenance
  • Trevisker
  • Upton Cross

Through the School Partnerships programme, the Ogden Trust provides funding, equipment, CPD and facilitate partnership working with other schools and Trusts in the UK.

The four year partnership runs from 2020 - 2024 and the funding will be used to provide events, activities, trips and training to the 10 participating schools.
 
Science leaders from each of the partnership schools meet termly to plan an exciting and inspiring programme of events.

Dates TBC CPD training day in each partner school on science topics that relate to each school
Date TBC ‘Science Talk’ CPD for all EYFS practitioners in the first year of the partnership.
              
A resource box and teacher guide is provided annually for each partner school to support the above CPD training.
