Residential Year 1 - Porthpean July 2018

Year 1 Porthpean residential trip was an exciting, busy and hot adventure for all! The children arrived on Wednesday morning whereby they enjoyed a tour of the site and made their beds in the tent homes. They got stuck in to the camp activities that afternoon by learning archery and wall climbing- many combatting height fears and relished the chance to try something new! That evening after tea, we walked down to Porthpean beach to create sand creatures before returning back to camp for hot chocolate, story time and bed.
Our second day started with a cooked breakfast and then set off to the beach for canoeing, kayaking, swimming and lots of fun! The hill climb back to camp has been the slowest part of the day but all was well again with some time to play in the sun before our fish and chip tea!
On our last day, the campers slept in a little later after their busy day at the beach the day before. We stayed onsite to take part in orienteering and den building. The children continued to impress the staff each day with their enthusiasm, positive attitude, kindness and maturity- well done Porthcothan and Mawgan Porth campers for a very enjoyable first residential!
